Nice try, but he said his view is objective, thereby invalidating your data.

I cannot stand when people say “objectively” to mean “I feel very strongly about this”

He's just angry because Rowling believes a woman is specifically a biological adult female.

appealing to sales and popularity is never ever a strong argument for the merit of art. also gesturing at rejection in an art field is ridiculous. piercing the veil of publication is a .01% feet that speaks nothing to quality and everything to vendibility. this guy is just guffawing because he hates jk Rowling as a person but if there are objective metrics by which the artistry of writing can be evaluated, neither of you are interrogating them. this is by far the weakest argument I've ever heard you present which is only to say I like you and am not a routine hater of your work.

He literally just explained why your argument isn’t addressing what he said. They’re popular, yes. In terms of the traditional definition of well written literature, they suck.

we're in the big 26 and yall think popularity is a metric of quality? that I'm itself is incoherent as a baseline. it's like arguing what people eat the most equates to how healthy it is and you see mac Donald's topping the charts and then asserting it is the healthiest option avaliable. "they're saying this fast food restaurant is bad for your health because insurmountable amount of health risks but its clearly objectively good for you because of the amount time spend in them". I'm not really supporting the other guy as his argument shouldn't have been so vague but this video is objectively much worst as the sole argumentation is "more popular = more good"

Temu makes 60 billion a year. Does that mean what they sell is objectively high quality? Gordon Ramsey restaurants make 200 million a year. McDonalds makes 30 billion a year, does that mean McDonald’s is 150 times higher quality than Gordon Ramsay’s food?

How good that you cut out the part of the video where he explains that popularity doesn't equate to quality. Otherwise your argument completely falls apart.
