They may have hundreds of CVs sitting in front of them, and your first job is to make it easy for them to understand who you are, what you can do, and why they should talk to you. But here's what many job seekers miss: Your CV isn't your entire career. It's just one signal. You also need visibility. Be where the right people are. Share what you're building. Document your work. Post your projects. Engage with people in your industry. Join communities. Go to events. Build relationships. Make it easy for people to discover you. I personally scout for talent online all the time. If I come across someone who has built something interesting, communicates well, demonstrates strong technical ability and looks like they'd be a great addition to a team, I'll remember them. And if I'm not hiring, I might know someone who is. That's the power of visibility + presentation + proof of work. You don't just want to be qualified. You want to be discoverable. And when someone discovers you, you want everything they see to make them think: “I need to talk to this person.” So yes, fix your CV. But don't stop there. Build in public. Build relationships. Build proof. Build your reputation. Because your next opportunity might not come from another job application. It might come from someone who already knows your name.
