@k9policecam: A child called 911 and told police his father had just shot his mother. Police in St. Cloud, Florida say Jose Otero-Fontanez shot and killed his wife, Lizvette Figueroa-Guzman, inside their home while their two children were there. One of the boys called 911, told dispatchers what happened, and then got his sibling out of the house and to a neighbor’s home. When the first officers arrived, police say Otero-Fontanez opened fire on them and then barricaded himself inside the house. Officers didn’t fire back. Instead, they sent in a drone, which police say was also shot at. After about 30 minutes, a crisis negotiator got him on the phone and convinced him to surrender. Inside the home, officers found Lizvette dead in a bathroom with multiple gunshot wounds. No officers were injured, and both children made it out safely. Otero-Fontanez was charged with first-degree murder. Disclaimer: This post covers a real incident using publicly available records and news reports.
