Well actually it does matter because those glp-1 should be used primarily for the people with diabetes first and we shouldn’t rely on it for weight loss although it works.

Meh, I just think people on Glp 1’s are going to lose weight, yes, but as soon as they stop taking it, they’ll put the weight on. Losing weight is a process that involves you learning how to eat properly, and how to exercise, and how to maintain the loss. Cheating never gets you anywhere

I’ve lost 60 pounds and still going on my GLP but, u don’t just lose weight by taking the medication and then sitting on your butt. It still takes hard work!! Caloric deficits and going to the gym and all the things!

The wording is also very funny to me. Natural vs glp-1 like they’re opposites. Yeah I’m talking a glp-1 but I still religiously stick to a calorie deficit, get my protein and fiber, do weight lifting. How is that not natural? Does the shot make it easy for me to be in a deficit by making me less hungry? Absolutely. But it’s not some radical shortcut that people try to prove it to be. My weight stalls all the same when I neglect my routine

I’ve been using a glp-1 and I’ve never been ashamed about using it. I’m always very vocal about it because I don’t want others to find shame in using it. It’s changed my life as someone who’s struggled with eating disorders, hormone disorders and insulin resistance. I wasn’t able to lose weight naturally before no matter how hard I tried and now I’m living a healthier lifestyle thanks to my glp-1

Using a GLP1 has helped me. I’ve used it as a tool by going to the gym while taking it and lost so much weight. They say you regain the weight but it’s because when people go on GLP1 they don’t increase or do any physical activity and expect it to be a magic wand. That’s why when they lose all the weight and stop they regain. Never had that issue after I stopped because I kept going to the gym and eat balanced meals. Being on the glp1 helped me break bad habits like stress eating which was the reason for my weight gain.

I don’t see using a glp 1 as an ethical error, it’s a tool and I respect that.what I’m skeptical of your health being further tied to another billion dollar company, as a lot of patients( my sister included) are being recommended that they take it for life. What happens when your insurance cuts you off for some reason, what happens if you can’t afford it anymore?.I love the idea to use it as a tool and not as a permanent fixture. I worry about the people that will use it for a long time, get the results, stop using it and then gaining the weight back I’ve lost 290 lbs “naturally” from over 700. I’ll reiterate that I don’t view this as an ethical thing,I view this as what happens if this was your only tool and it’s taken away, because after that there is only you and your choices.

I’ve lost 80+ lbs naturally and I chose not to go the glp1 route because I wanted to see how much I could lose without any assistance. Never have I thought using assistance is a “cheat” or “easy way out”, I think as long as you’re making the effort to live a healthier life you’re doing the right thing. It’s a shame this stigmatization may deter people who NEED this kind of help.

However, they are not risk-free. Pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, severe gastrointestinal problems, kidney injury, and other side effects are important risks to discuss 🙄

Natural means more patience and will power and I understand that some people need help losing weight but it’s been so normalized

While I lost my weight naturally, I have friends who have taken GLP and lost a lot of weight and I'm really happy for them! Why on Earth would you want to take away from someone else's success idk

I think the same goes for surgery as well. I do think habits have to be created in all forms or you end up back in the same boat. But the important thing is getting it off your body.

Same with weight loss surgery, it's a tool. I got bypass 2 years ago, best decision I've ever made.

I’ve lost a lot of weight naturally. I got very lucky. I’m proud of anyone trying too or that have lost weight. It doesn’t matter if it’s naturally, through surgery or medication weight loss is hard and all journey’s need to be celebrated.

I’m naturally pretty thin and have always eaten healthy. I’m so happy that losing weight can be so much easier for the people who really struggle with food noise, blood sugar, and weight. I’ve seen so many of my beautiful friends get thinner and healthier and more confident, and I absolutely love that.

The issue with GLPs , is that the individual does not learn how to deal with food addiction and hunger cravings, as they had a drug helping them avoid it entirely. Additionally, by allowing it to be an option, many people may just decide, "I'll just get fat as I won't need to put in any effort to lose it anyway"

me personally I never cared if someone uses sysriods to get bigger and all and dont care if someone uses glp-1 to lose weight...but one thing I will say...something ive noticed is nature doesnt like cheaters...you look at people om steriods and when they come off...usually a whole different person...you gain it quick you lose it quick and vice versa with weight loss
