Every time he treated me poorly, I asked him why he doesn’t treat his mother and sister the same way. I would also ask if he’d want his daughter to be treated the same way he would treat me and his answer was always no. He knew what he was doing.

It took me a long time to recognize the look on my ex wife's face at the very end was literal contempt. And a little bit longer after that to realize the how part of "how could she keep doing this?".... was literally my tolerance and forgiveness, it didn't prove anything to her, other than I will put up with it. And b/c I was willing to tolerate it, it only made her respect me even less

Yes! It’s maddening and feels like I’m a chicken w my head cut off. I keep trying to stay on topic with what we’re talking about and show him why he’s actions are just so wrong but he can’t hear it. He has his own version of reality and it’s so fucked
