Try it and tag me!  d’EATS -1 cup pitted and chopped majool dates -1 & 1/4 cups boiling apple cider -1/2 cup room temperature butter -1/3 cup brown sugar  -1/3 cup granulated sugar  -1/4 cup maple syrup  -1 egg -1/2 cup whole milk -1 tsp vanilla extract  -2 cups all purpose flour  -2 tsp baking powder -1/2 tsp baking soda  Toffee -1/4 cup unsalted butter  -3/4 cup heavy whipping cream -1/2 cup brown sugar  How to: Start by preheating the oven to 350F And a large bowl add your pitted and chopped dates. Top them with your hot apple cider and allow this to sit for 10 minutes. Once your apple cider and dates have sat for 10 minutes place them in a blender and pulse until smooth add them to a large bowl along with your butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar. Mix until smooth before adding your egg, maple syrup, and vanilla extract.  Once all your wet ingredients are combined, add your dry ingredients and mix until smooth. Lastly, add in your milk and fold to combined. Transfer your batter to aligned eight bite, baking dish and place it in the oven to bake for 55 minutes.  While your cake is in the oven, make your toffee sauce by adding your butter, brown sugar and heavy cream to a small sauce pan allow this to melt on medium heat and bubble for three minutes removed from the heat and place in a small bowl to allow it to cool Once your cake comes out of the oven, use a fork and poke holes in it add half of your toffee sauce to your cake and allow the toffee sauce to set in.
