you shouldn't be with somebody who hurts you, but at the same time someone loving you doesn't immediately remove their mental illness, does that mean you have to stay with them? no of course not. but just because they don't cure their mental illness instantly doesn't mean that they don't care about you or love you. but they definitely shouldn't be in any relationship if they are hurting others around them and can't control that.
