Actually makes perfect sense. Since we can only see the moon when the sun shines on the parts we can’t see, then a full moon just means the position of the sun and moon allows us to see the entire face of the moon. Pretty simple really

Last night I worked 10p-6a. I was outside, and I was thinking as I could see the moon fully lit the entire night, if the sun lit the moon, at some point overnight the earth would be between the sun and moon and the moon should at least go dark a little while since the moon was visible all night and the sun "rose" in the east behind it. That proves the moon is a luminary. And the earth is a plane
