for those who don’t know the friend that messaged him was only five miles upstream. Considering the wave moved at 50 MPH and assuming his friend messaged him the second it impacted him He only had max 4 minutes to do this. This is litterally a miracle.

75 KPH traveling 5 miles, that’s about 6 minutes. But that’s in a straight line. I’m sure the waters had to curve around a bit that slowed it down. But damn, evacuating almost 2,000 people in so little time is astounding.
