@camille.elise: here’s the argument that solidified my doubt when i was objectively looking at the case for christianity! i was an agnostic for a long period before i started posting because i thought God was a myth or fairytale and didn’t understand Christianity like at all! so from that perspective, here’s what i’ve learned #godisgreat #fyp #christianity #viral #MentalHealth

hiii i’m answering some questions i did not have time to address in the video! i want you all to be informed because replying “oh it’s God’s plan” is not an acceptable explanation 1. “why do natural evils like disease and natural disasters exist?” we live in a stable, law-governed world where natural processes have real effects. the same cell division that allows our bodies to grow and heal can also produce cancer. the same movement of the earth that helps make the planet habitable can also produce earthquakes. if God constantly suspended nature whenever it could harm someone, we would not live in an ordered world at all, but one where cause and effect meant nothing. this explains why natural suffering is possible, although it does not tell us why one particular person suffers while another does not. sometimes the honest answer is that we do not know. not knowing God’s reason for one tragedy is not the same as proving that no good reason could exist. 2. “if God is all knowing how can he just let evil happen without stopping it?” knowing something will happen is not the same as causing it to happen. God’s knowledge of a person’s choice does not force that person to make it. he allows human beings to make real decisions with real consequences. if God prevented every evil choice before it happened, then nobody could actually choose anything morally meaningful. REALLY important: the claim that God must prevent every evil he foreknows assumes that love requires eliminating freedom and every consequence, which does not logically follow. 3. “how is God loving if he basically forces us to follow his commandments or we go to hell??” heaven and hell are not a test where God says, “guess correctly or i’m gonna torture you.” christianity teaches that God is the source of life, goodness, and love. heaven is eternal union with him, while hell is separation from him. so in hell logically there cannot be anything good because it is seperation from God, the literal embodiment of good. it’s very simple: if you didn’t spend this life on earth with God then he’s not going to force you to be with him in eternity. hell isn’t a punishment it’s an willing outcome.

suffering= endurance, endurance = character, character = hope :) sometimes we are put through trials in order to get rid of pride, selfishness, bitterness, etc. to be more like Him!!

Okay I’m an atheist and you don’t cover why humans are born with an illness that had nothing to do with free will, but God allowed. You also did not talk about animal suffering at all since they’re is simply no good explanation from an all loving God. Also in the old testament he stepped into their lives all the time and did things, so why can’t he now? What makes his nature back then different from now? Also you bring up that humans caused sin, but to my understanding the devil committed the original sin not a human. And talking about the first sin from humans- most people would say Eve. But that story (besides the evidence saying they didn’t exist at all) talks of a tree that GOD placed in the garden with a SNAKE that god placed in the garden to tempt eve while having all the knowledge her and Adam would sin. While Adam and Eve had no concept of evil, since they haven’t sinned yet. And God give the rest of humanity the ability to sin and makes childbirth unbearable, seems cruel no? So why place the tree in the garden at all? Free will? Why can they live a totally normal life without the tree there? On the light analogy, there is no absence of God anywhere, he is omnipresent. In psalms it tells us he is everywhere(cant think of the exact verse). So the analogy can’t make sense due to the lack of “absence” of light. If the analogy was 1 to 1 everything should be bright, but it’s not all. But that’s just my thoughts as someone who doesn’t believe watching this. Would love to hear other ideas tho!

1. What about all the suffering that didnt come from a human choice, like cancer or someone dying from an earthquake? 2. If god only sometimes intervenes, how would he pick and choose which people are getting saved and who arent? isnt that an immoral thing too?
