So I have this theory. So as flowery said “ there is a darkness under hometown” which implies there’s a gigantic dark world under hometown, I believe that whenever a character creates a dark world they’re just creating a hole between the darkness under hometown, and the darkness is leaking out from there.

i think if theyd ever get here, dess' sprite just would not be there. since deltarune being a "videogame" is part of the canon, and dess is a lost character in the games story, the game shouldnt have a need to have sprites for them if the character is lost, because the player wasnt intended to find them in the first place, sort of like how the player wasnt intended to go past hometown.
