Kittens everywhere. Huge rave The Hive for the management there who actively works with Hidden Treasures in past and present to alleviate the community cat problem!. We've rescued and successfully relocated cats abandoned there, with the help of business owners , we worked together and solved the problem. One kitten was even injured stuck in a fence and was treated and saved. Thank you Tammy Olivarez and Mayor Terrie Barr for your humane support for the correct solutions to the cat problem. You are to be commended. 👏👏👏👏

And sometimes I still feel like I’m living in the newborn stage. The night feeds. The wake ups. The contact naps. The constant checking. The wondering whether he’s hungry, tired, teething, uncomfortable or just needs his mum. When people hear “ 8 months”, they sometimes assume things must be easier by now. And in some ways, they are. Riley is smiling more. He’s playing. He’s becoming his own little person. We’re seeing so much progress. But his journey has never been quite the same as everyone else’s. He arrived early. He was very small. He’s had some catching up to do. And we’re still working through milestones, growth, feeding and sleep. So sometimes I look at other babies his age and think… We’re still doing that? But then I remind myself that Riley doesn’t know what age he is supposed to be doing something. He doesn’t know what the sleep charts say. He doesn’t know that another baby is sleeping through the night. He just knows when he needs me. And my job is to listen. So if that means another night feed, I feed him. If that means a contact nap, I cuddle him. If that means settling him back to sleep at 2am, I’m there. I’m not trying to make him fit into someone else’s timeline. I’m trying to give him what he needs. And on the days when that feels exhausting, I remind myself that I’m not the only mum figuring out her own version of motherhood. Those little lights are full of mums with their own stories. Different babies. Different circumstances. Different challenges. But all of us showing up. All of us learning. All of us doing our best. Maybe motherhood isn’t about getting to the point where everything becomes easy. Maybe it’s learning to stop comparing your journey to someone else’s. And to realise that your baby doesn’t need you to have it all figured out. They just need you. 💛 #newmom #momlife #postpartum #motherhood #momcommunity
