HI guys real life tranny here, transvestite was used for trans people in a medical context for a very long time, and then in like, the 1920s medical transition became available in England + America, and the word “transsexual” was born, and then later transgender for those who didn’t undergo sex change surgeries, IE bottom surgery. But alltogether they literally all mean the same thing. There is a lot of debate within the trans community, especially the younger people who don’t have historical context. And while transvestite is generally considered offensive, and it did mean “cross dresser” thats also because that’s what trans people were viewed as. We were referred to as crossdressers.
