We toured Fort Sumter a couple of years ago where I was frankly shocked by the truthful history taught by the park rangers. They told the story of Robert Smalls!

I spent some time in Charleston, visited Fort Sumter. Somewhere in there I read this story. Even after more 150 yrs I still want to stand up and cheer. What a great story!!
