@silverliningscounseling: 💙 Standing Up for Access to Mental Health Care in Michigan On August 21st, Silver Linings Counseling therapists David Trombly and Laura Woodson joined mental health professionals at the BCBSM protest in Detroit to advocate for limited licensed clinicians and the clients they serve. Beginning in March 2027, changes to Blue Cross billing policies are expected to affect how services provided by certain limited licensed mental health clinicians can be billed and reimbursed. These changes have raised concerns throughout Michigan’s mental health community about the potential impact on clinicians, the mental health workforce, and the clients who rely on these services. Limited licensed clinicians provide mental health care while working toward full licensure under professional supervision. For clients who have already built trust and established a relationship with their therapist, changes affecting insurance reimbursement can create concerns about continuity of care and continued access to their provider. We’re proud of David and Laura for showing up, lending their voices, and standing alongside other Michigan mental health professionals to advocate for clinicians and the clients and communities they serve. 💙 Access to mental health care matters. Continuity of care matters. #MentalHealthMatters #AccessToCare #MichiganMentalHealth #MentalHealthAdvocacy #LimitedLicensedClinicians #ContinuityOfCare #SilverLiningsCounseling
