@betterthroughbetrayal: As a woman who’s been cheated on, I can tell you there are certain boundaries, conversations, secrecy, defensiveness, and little “jokes” that hit VERY differently once you’ve lived through betrayal. Does every weird dynamic mean someone is cheating? Of course not. But I also think women have been conditioned to ignore their intuition because we’re terrified of looking jealous, insecure, dramatic, controlling, crazy… whatever word they want to use. Meanwhile, some of us ignored red flags because we were trying SO hard to be the “cool” woman who didn’t overreact. Never again. You don’t have to accuse anyone of anything without proof, but you are absolutely allowed to notice when something feels inappropriate. You’re allowed to have boundaries. And you’re allowed to stop explaining away behavior that makes you uncomfortable just because everyone else says it’s “normal.” Sometimes the enemy isn’t some random woman in his DMs. Sometimes she’s a lot closer than you ever would’ve expected.
