Older persons mental health carer here 🙋♂️. what your 'fighting' with is her need for autonomy. Bill helps her have the information so she can make the decision, without the emotional baggage/hang-ups of thy children. Giving up control is an incredibly powerful, visceral response. I find that my patients who were always willful and or stubborn in life are the most challenging. And quite honestly, the only way I can help them it's when I make ideas, theirs.
