In the books, Helen got brainwashed and had new family but in Silo 1 that Daniel’s in, works differently he got freeze, when he woke up and started to remember everything again, he tried to find Helen and discovered that he has been freeze for more than decades so approximately Helen has died in Silo 18.

I think they have unknowingly been working for the silo under the memory drug. They were an extremely hard pass last episode and now they are getting a grand tour with assigned silos? Yeah they got played and didn’t know it until the very end
