@azruddinmohamedofficial: Watooka Day Primary School not ready for our children. Shame on the Hon. Minister of Education Sonia Parag and her REDO for Region 10. Today, 29th of August, Dr Ryan Richards MP for the WIN party, along with Regional councilor Miss Leola Narine, visited a number of schools in Linden, Region ten, to assess their readiness for the reopening of the new school term on Monday, 31st August 2026. The first school we visited was the Watooka Day Primary school and what we observed is both troubling and very concerning. The installation of the gutters were not completed. In the washroom facility, many of the toilets were not functional, they are not flushing. The windows on one of the buildings were installed prior to our arrival and the cement was still wet. The floors of the above mentioned building were not tiled, but instead covered with vinyl. The floors were a complete mess as a result of the construction work, installing the windows. These observations clearly indicates a total lack of preparedness and planning by the Regional Education Department, after two months of vacation, why only now are works being done on this school for reopening on Monday? This incompetence must be condemned and not allowed to continue. The Regional Education Department, Region 10, needs to do better and have things in place for our children, for the proper reopening of school on Monday.
