@hannahggreenn: If you set a big goal and expect to reach it without facing challenges or wanting to throw in the towel, you set yourself up for failure from day one. The goals that actually change your life are meant to be hard. They’re supposed to test your patience, push you outside of your comfort zone, and make you want to tap out. The sooner you accept that resistance is part of the process, the sooner you stop letting a hard week derail your entire vision. When it becomes a lifestyle, you expect the friction—and you show up anyway. And honestly, this is something God has been teaching me all over again. I think it’s easy to fall into comfort because of familiarity. You get comfortable with the same routines, the same habits, the same environment… and then suddenly, two years have passed. You wake up in the same bed, with the same goals, but no real evidence of progress. That’s a scary thought. Because potential is just that… potential. Your potential won’t get you there. Your great idea won’t get you there. One really good day won’t get you there. You have to match your potential with action. Your great idea with execution. Your really good days with the willingness to still show up on the bad ones. Otherwise, you can spend years desiring the same things without ever actually moving toward them. Greatness isn’t achieved by doing just enough. It requires discipline when your flesh wants comfort. It requires crucifying the flesh and choosing obedience. It requires walking by the Spirit instead of being led by your feelings, your comfort, or your own understanding. So maybe the resistance isn’t a sign that you’re on the wrong path. Maybe it’s part of becoming the person who can actually carry what you’ve been praying for. Show up anyway. Not because it’s easy. Not because you always feel motivated. But because you decided the vision was worth becoming disciplined for.
