People in the comments really didn’t know NC has alligators? They’re very common in certain parts of NC. They go into brumation during the winter and can withstand temps into the teens. They eat the same things in NC they eat through their range all the way down south to FL and all the way west to TX. Catfish, raccoons, opossums, small deer, snakes, turtles, wading birds etc.

I live in Florida, see alligators all the time, but I have no clue they had alligators in North Carolina. I thought it was too cold for an alligator to be up there.
