For those who don’t know water moccasins have primarily hemotoxic venom with strong cytotoxic properties. So it will destroy the red blood cells, it can impair your ability for your blood to clot and destroy surrounding tissue.

I lived on a creek for my entire childhood. We had little dingys and inflatable rafts that we would take out every day in the summer. Biggest water moccasin I’ve ever seen started chasing us every now and then. It was huge and terrifying. And it was smart. My stepdads shop was like 12 feet from the dock. He had a shotgun. Every time we would see it and his feet hit that dock, it would go under and disappear. Then chase us again days later. You are so damn lucky to be alive.
