![Miss the countryside? The raw green hills of Bucovina seem almost impossible in their intensity, rolling beneath a blue sky stitched together with drifting white clouds. Scattered across the landscape, weathered wooden barns stand like old sentinels, reminders of a Romania that still breathes at its own unhurried rhythm. It is the kind of scenery that makes you slow down without even realizing it. Bucovina, in northern Romania, is famed for its pastoral landscapes and centuries of rural tradition. Many of these wooden structures were built using techniques passed down through generations, crafted from local timber and designed to endure harsh winters. Beyond the hills lie villages, painted monasteries, and meadows that have changed remarkably little compared to much of Europe’s rapidly modernized countryside.
