I moved here 23 years ago with my two blk children, we experienced so much racism it was scary, had to pull my daughter out of her high school due to racial remarks and threats. I will say it has gotten better over the 23 years and my adult children now have very good jobs and are doing great and my grandchildren that are black aren't experiencing what my kids did which I'm so grateful.

It seems that gate keeping is the fear of reckless urbanization culture and thug culture even though there's an insidious culture towards outsiders. The same representatives are selling out to aristocrats and elites regardless of their out state status or out of the country buyers.

Thank you for saying all of this! I was born and raised in a VERY small isolated town. I never saw, much less spoke to a person of color until I went to college. My parents NEVER had a conversation with me about people who look or speak differently than me. I had a LOT to unlearn. I had those talks with my kids. We white people NEED to have these conversations not just with our kids but with our neighbors. I'm so glad you're here. Be free and be happy!

Whenever I see someone black in Montana, I worry for them that they’ll feel weird with so few black people here. I always want to say something to them, but being awkward wouldn’t help.

the xenophobia and racism in this state is horrible and I’m sorry you’ve had to deal with this. literally all us white ppl aren’t even originally from here so it’s quite wild. I hope you do find the love that’s in this state as well tho and can enjoy Montana!! totally & completely welcome you and love having you in our state!!💕💕

I think most Montana’s aren’t racist they just like their solitude and like their space. ♥️we just don’t want Montana to turn into big cities like NY or LA and no damn data center, we don’t want Montana overpopulated. However I love Montana and I think anyone who comes would also love it. I welcome you with open arms ♥️
