isn’t her character about overcoming the cruel jujutsu system she was placed at the very bottom of? she was born to be shunned, degraded and dehumanized by her clan for the sole reason of being born with less than a shred of cursed energy, retaining only the slightest amount. She was very oppressed in the setting of the zenin clan, instilling a trauma directly caused by the cruel system of the jujutsu world. She eventually awakened her innate ability that set her apart from the vast majority of sorcerers, the same one that polarized her from the rest of her clan and was looked down upon by them became their very downfall. Her character isn’t simply a “tomboy” due to the fact of her internalized self hatred, which she projects onto others in a form that could be perceived as “cold.” the writing behind her character challenges the disproportionate adversities placed onto her for the mere reason of her existence. Why are we watering her down?

objectively the entire zenin clan was exploitative and heavily abusive. it had a hierarchical government that functioned as a tyranny of the powerful, the exact opposite of gojo's beliefs in "the strong should help the weak". the zenin clan represents the corrupt governments of the real world who prioritize the rich and powerful over the average person. if you believe a corrupt government should die (i do) then you should believe the zenin clan deserved to go. so maki doing that is cold as fuck and exactly what i want
