To quote Bo Burnham: Welcome to the Internet! For reals though, it's always been this way. I once sent an email to a moderator of a professional site once in hopes of making some points I didn't feel were appropriate for a public discussion and he posted it. I requested he take it down because it was a private communication but he refused. Lesson learned. Ignore the trolls and never pay them with your attention.
