So after installing long tube headers, I heard you’re supposed to upgrade to better wires so that way they can bend more easily and move around the pipe so doesn’t get burnt up. any recommendations on good wires?

Wrap your transmission lines in heat shield wrap so 4l60 don’t go bye bye your gunna boil it up if you don’t

I did this with my truck and in my opinion I wouldn’t fully trust those fiberglass sleeves, when I installed headers on my truck, heat gets trapped inside and will burn those wires. I went through three different pairs. The heat can also cause a misfire code and check engine light, so I would grab yourself a set that you can trim at your own length so there is slight slack and change the boots on so it isn’t so close 👍

I bought and installed the long headers for my Sierra 2001 4.8 and they are crap. The driver's side was difficult, removing the engine support, but the passenger side... the header hit the frame and I had to heat it up and hit it in a brutal way... the Y pipe doesn't even fit the headers, they also hit the transmission support. Money thrown away.
