After 180k you are taxed 47c on the dollar so $810,000 of your million will be taxed at 47% that’s $385k PLUS the tax from everything under 180. So it’s not wrong.

correct,the brackets only go to 180... so the discount on the first sub 180 doesn't really touch the sides on 500 hence, may as well just call it half.
