When done correctly, it does not hurt the dog — we’re only removing hairs that are ready to come out. 🐶✨ You can see how perfectly Ruby sits throughout her hand strip. She’s completely relaxed and happy to let us work through her coat at her own pace. 💕 Hand stripping helps maintain the correct harsh, wiry texture, natural colour and weather-resistant qualities of the coat. It’s a specialist skill and, unfortunately, not something every groomer offers, which is why we’re proud to provide hand stripping for suitable wire-coated breeds.
