Request goes out, result comes back, and the manager keeps control and the context the whole time. manager = Agent( tools=[search.as_tool(), draft.as_tool()] ) 🔀 DECENTRALISED — a triage agent hands off. Control transfers to the specialist and does not come back. triage = Agent( handoffs=[support, sales, orders] ) 👀 That's it. as_tool() vs handoffs. Watch the reel — in pattern one the dot goes out and returns. In pattern two it leaves and stays gone. Pick based on one question: does anything need to come back? ⚠️ But before either: START WITH ONE AGENT. Add tools before you add agents. And it's not the number of tools that breaks things — 15 distinct tools is fine, 10 overlapping ones is not. TOOLS COME BACK. HANDOFFS DO NOT.
