My nurse refused to call for an epidural because I’ll have a “beautiful natural birth”. Pretty sure I swore at her. The more senior nurse that took over her shift chewed her out because by that point it was too late.

how far along were you? i was 8 almost 9cm and they couldn’t do the epidural but they did the spinal block which is basically the same procedure it just doesn’t last as long. surely they could’ve offered SOME kind of pain relief. i am terrified of going too late or being denied medicine and having to go unmedicated 😅

First push and was told I might need an episiotomy…the one thing I really did not fkn want and made very clear about! Still suffer from that scar to this day

I wanted a water birth, and they had pools at the hospital. I went in and they offered to give me Pitocin to speed up my labour. I asked if I could still get in the pool and they said "oh of course!" so I said yes. Get far enough to get into the room with the pool and I said "can I get in the pool now?" "oh no honey you've got Pitocin you can't get in the pool". and I had a complete breakdown

my mom asked for one when she gave birth to my sister. they gave it to late, it started working after the birth, she couldn't walk or do anything only holding the baby, she cursed at the nurses so bad that she swore to never want them😃

The epidural didn't work and the nurse told me that what I was feeling were impressions in my brain instead of pain. I was in pain for 36 hours, they were still forcing me to push. The agreed to an energency c section under full narcosis after I threatened to jump out the hospital window building.

I signed off on having my tubes done if the situation of emergency cesarean came up, and they “forgot” to check my forms so it never happened 🙃

I literally begged, cried on the floor then ended up going full Karen mode in order for them to give me the epidural (they refused because I wasn't dilated enough even though I was in excruciating pain from amniotic infection, 40 degrees fever and emergency induction)

I got told that the nurses try put off the epidural till the last minute n then tell you it’s to late to have it ,so i purposely said i was in more pain than i was very early on in Labor. I wasn’t missing out on that Epidural! 😬😂

I’ve had 2 labors. For BOTH I said repeatedly I wanted a water birth. For both I was told I could. First one I was IN A ROOM WITH ONE. And couldn’t use it cause I was having twins AND an induction. Found out on the day. Second one was natural but the ward was busy so I didn’t get a room with one and when I asked to be moved after things calmed down they saw my waters which had just broken naturally and said “oh no you can’t with meconium present” I almost lost it both times.

Meanwhile I had said “no epidural” and they asked me so many times if I wanted one, I finally announced “the next person to say epidural in my hearing is BANNED from this room” and they all stopped asking 💀

I was in the room when my ex bestfriend had her first child, she asked for an epidural 7 times and they kept saying they would soon. They never did.

They told my mother the anesthesiologist wasn't in that day so she started throwing things andher three sisters raised HELL. They had someone there in an hour.

i got my epidural, it failed on my right side, i begged and begged for them to fix it for SIX HOURS and when she finally was like “alright, let me get the anesthesiologist. well- let me check you real quick…. OH GIRL U NEED TO PUSH RN!!” i never wanted to rip the head off of somebody more in my life. then the entire time after, when i was getting sewn, the midwife kept telling me to stop crying because i “had the epidural and she wasn’t even doing anything”. i needed 30+ stitches. i felt it. she finally got pissed and grabbed a male doctor. you know what he did? fixed my epidural and gave me morphine for the final 2 stitches.

Girl they left me in the waiting room for half an hour because I forgot my antenatal book. then put me in a small room alone with no nurses no meds because I was only in “early labour” mind you Nobody had even checked my dilation until I was yelling out that my body was pushing him out each contraction. My kids head was half out by the time I got checked I had a early epidural planned from the beginning 😭😭😂

My nurse refused to order the epidural after 4 hours of begging for it, said the anesthesiologist was “too busy” and then would tell me I’m going to need a c section if I got it because that’s what happened to her. Shift change came and my new nurse ordered it right away. Without the epidural I went from 1-3 cm in 4 hours, with the epidural I went 3cm-10cm in 3 hours

If I ever give birth (unlikely), apparently I have to install multiple cameras in the room, have all of my conversations recorded and printed out with signatures from both parties, and have my lawyer present bc if some mf's forget or refuse to give me an epidural after already agreeing to give me one beforehand, I'm suing everyone
