Every human activity generates CO2 emissions. Plants convert CO2 into oxygen. If this was really about concern for our climate, our leaders would be planting more trees and vegetation. Climate Doomerism is about control of human activity.

The Nepal mudslide was driven by immediate factors such as extreme rainfall, steep terrain, saturated soil, erosion, and slope instability, all of which can cause landslides without climate change. It is dangerous and scientifically premature to attribute a specific disaster to climate change without a formal attribution study, because doing so can confuse correlation with causation and overlook local factors such as deforestation, road construction, drainage problems, and land-use changes

Lichtman is a historian by training. My undergrad is in History but I went back and picked up a couple of graduate science degrees. He’s regurgitating something he heard or read.
