Just did some snappy research on pies so the commenters can stop arguing. Turns out the earliest known mention of pies was in Sumar around 2000bc which was of a chicken pie (yuck) and then the next one is in Egypt around 1500bc which was a sweet pie consisting of a honey filled sweet pastry. Which brings us to more modern times Meat pies aka savoury (steak, mince beef and chicken varieties) are most commonly consumed in Britain, NZ and Australia. While Fruity Pies aka sweet are most commonly found in the US, Canada and a few European countries. Outside of that it seems to be an even splattering around the world. Personally i think all the people in the comments should stop arguing and enjoy a pie of whatever fucked up combination they desire.
