A lot of older engineers have in fact maxed out at $125k, especially in the Midwest. Once I became manager at my first job I realized we paid new engineers $65-75k/yr while the guys approaching retirement are still at $80-105k. It's unfortunately what happens to those who stay loyal their entire career

I made 120k as an intern lmao. #1 food and beverage engineering firm in the country. My per diem was 6k a month. I did it for a year. 3 rotations as a co op

Making money in engineering is all about the company. Yeah some companies you max out at 125k but you’re working “40” hours a week with 3 WFH days. You can make insane money at the right company, but you will have to work the extra hours

Baxum, would you say at home projects are a must have? Or is keeping a high gpa, landing internships and getting project experience with clubs and research at my university more important.

Not sure if you spoke about this already but can you rate like out of 10 how important it is to go to a college that has an active and integrated co-op/internship program? Some that I’m looking at have some support but won’t actually get you something themselves
