Man I used to wear AirPods and then one day I got a weird, hard bump behind my ear. It got to where it was swollen up and pushing on my jaw and ear. Then, I quit wearing AirPods for some unrelated reason and the bump turned soft and almost like it had liquid inside of it and it just slowly got smaller and smaller.

I used the AirPods as a hearing aid for a day. They worked well, but there were 2 issues: to others it looked like I was listening to music, and the battery lasted only a few hours

I cannot use them because I need something that goes over the ear not in it, or touching the outside of it. I’ve tried several types and kinds, doesn’t matter my ear canal feels like it’s on fire and I get dizzy.

Conversation awareness sucks because it assumes any speech you encounter around you requires your attention. That’s mostly what I need to cancel out. Gave up on it.
