As someone how frequently refers to the spoon theory.... I love the idea of carnival tickets for specific energy things (big cleaning tasks or what have you)

My wife and I like "spell slots" from D&D for this instead of spoons. Certain things only require cantrips and can be used at any time. Other tasks require levelled spells, which vary in availability according to your available spell slots.

In my house, we use spell slots. Sometimes we have a 4th or 5th level slot. We can’t use it for anything other than a 4th or 5th level task

I find the spell slot system more fitting. You can burn higher level spell slots to do lower level tasks, but not the other way around.

I also like fork theory which is basically this annoyance, inconvenience , overstimulation, ect. = fork there's only so many forks you can take , it's like the saying... "Put a fork in me I'm done"

My task avoidance is usually overcome by the object in motion stays in motion. I.E. I need to clean my room but don't want to. Those dishes look like they need washing and then mid sink I teleport to my bedroom and it starts getting cleaned. I then end back at the sink and finish the dishes and somehow my room was cleaned miraculously somewhere in the middle.

D&D cantrips and prepared spells are a good metaphor for this too. Cantrips are used for the small tasks that we complete all the time whereas prepared spells are for specific tasks and have certain energy costs.
