Here in Finland it's common (or at least was in my youth) for kids to go into the forest, strip a young branch of its bark and stick it in an anthill - the ants would defend themselves by spraying formic acid on it, so after a few moments, you'd take out the stick and lick it off! So yes, I'd try ants. Sounds yummy.

I will eat anything not to create a diplomatic incident. I don't think I'd seek them out but if you served them to me I'd try them! I mean I eat shrimp, right?

Just a fun fact, these are weaver ants! They make their nests in trees between leaves, binding them together to form cocoon-like husks 😁

In Latin America some natives use ants to make a spicy paste because the ants have a spicy kick to it ! I tried it in Venezuela . Very interesting

Do they taste like they smell? Because the ones I’m used to being around smell like old banana to me which I don’t like very much. Otherwise I would be willing to consider it

I ate ants as a kid (my reasoning was that I like meat so maybe ants were good as well) and I really did not like it. I thought they tasted like laundry soap 😭 But I would try it again in a restaurant
