The Uruguayan Meteorological Institute, Inumet, issued an orange alert for areas in the departments of Cerro Largo, Durazno, Florida, Rocha, Tacuarembo, and Treinta y Tres, and a yellow alert for several other areas. The thunderstorms were accompanied by intense downpours, large hail, very strong wind gusts, and frequent lightning strikes. Hail was recorded in Tacuarembo and Paysandú, where strong thunderstorm activity was simultaneously observed. In Melo (Cerro Largo Department), lightning struck a palm tree. Heavy rainfall was also reported in the departments of Maldonado, Treinta y Tres, and Durazno. According to Inumet, the probability of hazardous events exceeded 75%.
