@aussiemammoth1: When we lower the deceased into the grave, the men above carefully pass them down, and those of us inside receive them and gently lay them on their right side, facing the Qibla towards Makkah. We then undo the ties holding the shroud together, allowing the kafan to remain loose around the body. There is something deeply humbling about this moment. Sometimes you realise that you may be the last person to ever touch that deceased before the earth covers them. Today, that man was 98 years old—almost twice my age. A man who carried nearly a century of history, experiences, struggles and, inshaAllah, many good deeds. Yet after 98 years, his final destination in this dunya was the same destination awaiting every one of us: the grave. What an honour. What a blessing. What an amanah to be among those who carried him, received him into his grave and laid him to rest with dignity. My brothers and sisters, no matter how long we live, eventually someone will carry us, someone will lower us, and someone will be the last person to touch us before the dirt covers us. Every soul shall taste death. #fyp #grave #themuslimundertaker #trending #australia
