Clubs that tried to play by the rules have been left behind while one club operated on a different financial planet. A hundred points does not give those clubs their seasons back. It does not give them the players they lost in the market. It does not give them the titles that were decided before a ball was kicked. “They should be relegated. They should be banned from Europe for longer than five years. The ownership should be forced to sell. And every title won during the period under investigation should be stripped. Anything less is an insult to every club that has been competing against an unfair advantage. “I have said for years that financial rules only matter if they are enforced properly. If the evidence is as serious as these reports suggest, then one hundred points is the minimum, not the maximum.
