I also made sure half my retirement goes into a trust for my daughter. 🤷♀️encountered too many stories of men remarrying and then not protecting their kids from the new greedy wife.

This is smart. My mother in law died of cancer. My father in law remarried almost immediately. While married to my MIL, they owned 4 houses. Now those houses belong to the new wife. She gave one to her own son while my MILs children get nothing.

she's being nice by saying it's not her husband. reality is, you should make sure your kids are taken care of if you die, no matter what. don't leave that to your partner. people change. you owe it to your kids to protect them.
