This one is smaller than all of them and it does something none of them do. The melody is in the left hand, low down, around where a cello sits. Above it the right hand repeats one chord and never varies it. So the tune is buried underneath the accompaniment instead of riding on top, which is backwards. Whether that is what makes it land the way it does, I could not tell you. He marked it very slow, gave it no name, and it runs about two minutes. Tell me your pick for the saddest thing he wrote.
