According to local media, the man who lost his life on the Saturday is Dimis Mavropoulos. He was 76 years old and he was a well known bussinesman, living in Limassol. Hi is the founder of the Cyprus Motor Museum. He was at Cape Greco on his boat, with his family. Other events from Saturday, August 29, caused by the storm 11 flights to Cyprus were diverted because of bad weather. They were scheduled to land in Larnaca and they ended up in Paphos, Rhodes and Lebanon. 2 waterspouts formed on the sea. One in Larnaca and the other one in Ayia Napa. A man was struck by lightning in Kato Drys village. He was taken to the hospital and he is ok. A lightning caused fire to a residential storage area in Avgorou, Famagusta. A lightning cause fire in Kyparissia Forest, in Limassol district. The firefighter crews manage to access the area and contained the fire. The heavy rain flooded some of the roads in Limassol.
