In my opinion.. It's called respect and should apply to both parties. Can't build a foundation on hills from the past. I'm trying to build a house on top of the mountain and enjoy every sunrise & sunset, and not worry about the weeds below us ruined a rock solid foundation. 🤷🏽‍♂️

100%. I started taking my gf more seriously when she started drawing boundaries with her ex. I didn’t push or ask for it. I waited until she was ready to. She needed that space and I needed to respect that. It made me feel more secure in our connection and I’m grateful that she asked me how I felt during it.

I agree 100%. By maintaining those relationships (which, let’s face it, didn’t work; we hold on to them for nostalgia and potentially as Plan B) you keep access open, and one—if not more—of them will take advantage of that at the first opportunity.
