When you play as Ellie right after downtown Seattle and you’re going to the radio tower, one of the abandoned buildings has a hanging noose with a skeleton under it, in the top floor you can find a note to a husband about a woman who’s sick and she apologizes to her husband about not staying hidden and that when she went outside she heard whistles and she ran inside and barricaded herself inside and she describes herself feeling like she’s being watched. Later on as you explore as Ellie you find another corpse this one shot by an arrow with a letter from a man to his wife and to anyone who finds his body, he describes getting shot and hiding while trying to bring his wife medicine, he writes to tell her that he’s sorry and to please get the medicine to her. It is such a sad side story knowing they were both hunted down by seraphites and passed away thinking of the other one to write a note to them as their final words.

One I specifically remember is in Tlou 1 the family in the van, there was a photo of them on the table and they were all together in bed, their bodies , it was so sad

“If we do, I hope you’re not still sitting in your stupid fucking chair” probably one of my favourite notes in this game. The fact he died holding it, probably reminiscing about his family is so upsetting. I wonder if his kids did come back, and did they see him still sitting there

It’s the little things like this that makes this game so great. You could see that there’s life outside the protagonists’ life. I like going around and explore as much as I could to hear rare dialogues or read letters or just appreciate the view.

Ricky although I sympathize to an extent was blinded by his loss, which made him gullible and naive and easy to be manipulated by the batshit insane pos seraphite who was talking to him secretly, he made him believe that his father’s sacrifices were signs of weakness when in reality he gave everything for his kids including his life and they probably never even knew about it, a tragedy all round.
