If your cat weighs 8kg and you're feeding portions calculated for an 8kg cat, they're not going to lose weight, you're feeding them to maintain exactly what they currently weigh. The fix: feed for your pet's ideal weight, not their current weight. If your 8kg cat's ideal weight is actually 6kg, portion sizes need to be calculated for a 6kg animal. That's the calorie target that actually creates weight loss.
