I didn't know why the pipe need to be bend down, cause the logic was that water from the sink would go straight down the drain. But the answer is: The pipe lacks a proper P-trap bend, allowing dangerous sewer gases and bad odors to flow directly into the room. While fast drainage seems beneficial, standard plumbing requires a P-trap (a "P" or "U" shaped dip in the pipe) for critical health and safety reasons: Sewer Gas Barrier: A P-trap holds a small standing pool of clean water inside the dip. This "water seal" completely blocks foul odors and toxic sewer gases (like hydrogen sulfide and methane) from rising out of the drain. Corrugated Interior Clogging: Flexible accordion pipes have continuous ridges inside that actually trap hair, soap scum, and debris far more easily than smooth rigid pipes, leading to frequent clogs over time.
