If you’ve lived in Florida you’d realize that calling the humidity oppressive is a common term and that the use makes sense when its impact is affecting your ability to function outside. It’s not offensive to call weather oppressive, because it truly can be.

Colorado over here watching - our dew point usually doesn’t even reach the bottom of the graphs you showed. Our perception of “humid” would make you laugh…

Oppressive is 102° with 99% humidity or anything close. Or days upon days of high heat AND high humidity. It's dangerous.

Oppressive can definitely apply to humidity. When its a sunny 90°+ with 90% humidity, oppressive would definitely describe it.
