Emma by Jane Austen. I love classic literature but this one was a slow one, even for me. The end made me smile a little and chuckle, but that was all the pay off I received after powering through.

all of the action and plot happens by the last 15 pages and it ends with that , then you'd be left empty for the next 3 months unable to move on after that 100 pages though seemed boring and plotless it actually made you emotionally attach to the characters and thier lives and routines and friends and family .

I’m reading Pride and Prejudice for the first time ever. I’m taking my time and savouring because that’s one of those books so many people wish they could forget and read again for the first time 🥹

That’s the problem. You’re reading it like you’re watching a movie. You expect some big twists and turns on every page. Reading a classic is like sitting at a park and people watching and genuinely enjoying it.

My kind get bored when “something happens” 😂! If a book does not go two pages describing the rain falling in a philosophical poetic existential way I get anxiety! 😥 🥵 I call them “Books without soul”

It is a touch infuriating, but I think it is also what gives classics their feeling! It feels like there is no rush to get to the point, and the background given to the story gives a larger depth to understand, which for me is what makes a classic, a classic
