Good GRIEF that would mess me up so much. I understand that the US is backwards in this, but there should at least be a federal stipulation passed where checks "expire" 30 days after dated or something, to avoid this. Having to always mentally account for all the checks "out there" and hold that amount in your checking account is WILD business... a $14,000 spread?? That's the crazy.

I'm surprised to hear that people still pay things by cheque over in America, direct debit is so much easier and leaves your back exactly when you expect it to. That aside, I would be annoyed in their situation too.

It drives me crazy when people do that! I keep great records, but it's irritating when others don't keep up. I refuse to use checks now and make them use ACH.

While i dont understand why the agent wouldn't deposit them, as property owner not getting the money otherwise, it wouldn't bother me that much. Id keep records of all months paid/date check sent, and total rent still 'uncashed' , so id know how much disposable cash i had left
